Games

I was cruising the net looking for word of this game and made a profile just to say that this game should definitely be made.

Lol, same here...

Awesome possum game! I hope you guys can make one (and DON'T make it system exclusive)

I feel that it's about time that you unleashed another beast upon the fighting genre.... right? :D

Casual games are getting more and more popular these days. Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Wii, all the Popcap games... you name it.

What's great about Bloody Roar? It's easy to pick up and just play! Button mash your way to victory if you want to, fun for everyone! Casual fighting!

If Bloody Roar 5 advertised itself as a fun casual fighter that everyone can play, I believe there would be profit.

Of course, don't forget to add depth for us devoted players too ;)

There is something special about Bloody Roar, and it's not just the transformations, many games have transformations, it's something else... a certain atmosphere that only Hudson can achieve...

Now get to work!

To the creators of the new Military Madness game. I feel I would be a great choice. I started playing Military Madness on the TG-16 back in 1989 when I was 12. I owned this game for about 5 yrs and I became very efficient at destroying the enemy. I lost touch with the game until the PSone release in which I pick the game up and I was right back to my ways with the game. There’s been nights where I’ve played for 12 hours plus, continuously sharpening my skills. I would always hone my capabilities as I would do my best at each go around to reduce my losses vs. enemy losses.

Last year I found a copy of Nectaris (The 1995 PC DOS release) and I quickly adapted my strategy to this version of the game. Even with learning the many new units, I still kept my casualties to a minimum. Every time I get a chance to pull out my laptop and fire up the game is shear pleasure!

Closer to the end of last year I purchased a TurboDuo just to be able to play Neo-Nectaris (1994 PC Engine Duo) Even with it’s pixilated graphics and Japanese language it was just like picking up Nectaris for the TG-16. I quickly adapted to the new menu, and even with maps I’ve never face before. I still was capable of using my previous skills.

I’ve even started creating an idea for a new development of a military madness style game (Your game along with other Military Madness games have had an heavy influence on my game), as I’m a Military Service Member myself and I seem to have a keen sense for war strategy. I hope that one day I can actually submit a development for a military strategy game. I love the fact that I can make my decision on my time, it’s a lot like chess; you make calculated decision on where to place units, which units are best against each other. To me the Military Madness series is the ULTIMATE chess game as there are countless strategies that you can implore. I can only hope that you consider me for this project. Thank you for taking your time to read thru this, have a good day or evening!

It would be awesome if Hudson games came out more in Europe, and more in North America. I feel your pain, I really do. Let us look at the issue a bit though. Right this moment you are waiting for new Xbox 360 and PS3 love and you should be hoping it hits you, as you have supported past titles, and these seem to be popular. You are asking the North American arm to do something magical about the European situation. What about asking the people who actually have power over your region? Hudson themselves, yeah, the home office Japanese entity inside of Konami now (as Hudson Soft is an "consolidated subsidiary" of Konami). The home office might have seen your justified cry, but it's unlikely they will ever find it here.

You must have some sort of established European distributor and developer arrangement with Hudson-Konami there covering 360 and PS3 games. It really takes a lot of clamor and luck to ever see some of those amazing Japanese titles reach your or our shores to be perfectly honest. Honest and fair to the economic reality of the game industry of today. Digital distribution helps some things, but it still takes cash to localize any of the titles or make ones just for certain areas of the world. It took forever for PS3 owners, a console that is under supported by developers for various legitimate reasons, and I wager there are issues for the 360 titles as well. If they make the game available for you in the UK (guessing here, don't hate me if you are in fact in the Czech Republic), what about the French fans? What about the German fans? The Spanish fans? The Portuguese fans? Europe as a region could pose a lot of issues to developers that we cannot even fathom from our places here as lowly non-industry fans.

Several years back on the cell phone you all had way more games available than we did in North America. Living Mobile was the key in that instance. Bomberman Pinball for the cell phone? Totally unfair to us yank fans. lol I have had to rely on emulators to even try this, though the Japanese GBA version plays better IMO. Yes, I bought the cart for that one since I needed my fix of bomberman pinball.

Most recently unless I am missing some release, Europe got DS Bomberman 2 and we're still waiting for it. An even longer wait for us has been a NA release of DS Bomberman Story, which again you all got. No, I don't mean the Japanese GBA Bomberman Story game which we both got as Bomberman Tournament. :) Yes, we can buy your editions thankfully for English support since there is no region lock, but how many people off the street will ever take the effort to do it?

Let's keep going, you still have some advantages on us. Look at the PS2. You got Bomberman Kart and Bomberman Hardball, of which North America got neither option. They both are interesting and fun games in my opinion, but we never had a chance to play them. I had to make copies of my own UK purchased titles and patch/v.center the video to get any satisfaction. This is after installing a flip top to get around region protection. No one else I know of online from the US, even collectors with bomberman fuses tripped, have gone to this extent and instead resorted to piracy alone to own any of those foreign English language releases we don't have. Also don't forget, back in the SNES days, you all got Super Bomberman 3 while we had to settle for importing it. Totally not fair.

There might be more that I am missing, but you get the point. North America gets even less love than you all do sometimes. In this case, we just managed to be ahead of the curve. I am sure you will catch up and beat us again somewhere. :) Localization of titles is a tricky thing. Not only are you looking at the software development side in creating the English language version (plus the noted languages above), but then you have the video issue of PAL vs NTSC playing a role. Money and potential sales weight plays an enormous role. From what I have seen, Bomberman, or Dynablaster, has been much stronger in Europe than America over the years. You see more bomberman products on UK ebay sites than the US one, even if they aren't all official. You all have a lot of Japanese game content flooding the online sources, and I wager your shops and boot sales do as well. Even Canada sometimes has more weird Bomberman goods than US lists.

But, I am not complaining. Merely putting it in perspective from my side of the pond. Don't blame Hudson Entertainment alone for all of your woes, please. It is a bigger picture than them being mean and ignoring Europeans. They do a great job given the fussy and fickle buying trends of consumers here and there. I would look and maybe ask some of the entities who have in the past been the distributors of the software you in Europe have consumed. This would include:

Hudson Soft home office (you know the URL), Konami (your European branch would be I guess, Rising Star Games (though their wikipedia entry does not list any PS3 or Xbox releases, just PSP/Wii/PS2/DS), Ubisoft (has done a lot of Bomberman in the past), Majesco (and so forth. The news of who and where the game is coming out might be tightlipped and maybe it is not. Good luck either way. Next game I want to play might not even come out here, so your delay of sorts is a small price to pay if you get it in good time. We don't always even get that option here.

Just saying.

Phew. That's all I can think of today, but I hope you can digest these well enough in the coming times.

Awesome stuff, thank you!
